WILMINGTON, MA — It’s going to be a busy two weeks for Wilmington High School Drama Club members.

On Wednesday, February 24, the WHS Lamplighters Guild will present an “Evening of One Acts” at 7pm in the Wilmington High School Auditorium.  The evening will consist of the Guild’s two winter productions, both one-act plays.  The first — Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland — will serve as the Guild’s second annual children’s touring production.   The second — Burial at Thebes — will serve as the Guild’s play used for upcoming competitions.  Admission is FREE OF CHARGE and OPEN TO ALL.

On Saturday, February 27, the WHS Lamplighters Guild will perform Burial at Thebes at the Massachusetts Education Theater Guild Festival’s Preliminaries at Andover High School (100 Shawsheen Road).  The festival’s first performance begins at 9am and final performance wraps around 6pm.  Wilmington is scheduled to take the stage at 12:15pm.  Wilmington will be competing against Tewksbury, Hamilton-Wenham, Andover, Academy of Notre Dame, Georgetown, Wakefield and Nazareth Academy.  Tickets cost $10 and are available at the door.

On Saturday, March 5, the WHS Lamplighters Guild will again perform Burial at Thebes at the International Thespian Society Festival at Wilmington High School.  This marks the first time in WHS history that the school will have hosted such an event. The day’s schedule an not yet been released.

Good luck to the Lamplighters at the METG and ITS Festivals, as well as with their touring children’s production!
