WILMINGTON, MA — Here are THIRTY-NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, February 5, 2016:
- Police received reports of a tree down on Wild Avenue, blocking one lane of traffic. Police contacted DPW. (9:23am)
- Police received report of a tree down on Marion Street. Police contacted DPW. (9:53am)
- Police received report on fallen tree limbs atop a RMLD lines on Shawsheen Avenue. Police notified RMLD. (10:58am)
- A UPS truck got stuck on the lawn of St. Thomas. UPS was responding to the situation. Police notified the Priest. (11:08am)
- A Benson Road resident called to report a tree down in his yard, partially obstruction the street. The tree took down lines to his house, which has no power. Caller already contacted RMLD. (11:29am)
- A Quail Run caller reported mail packages have been stolen from their porch over the past two days. (11:36am)
- A gray 2012 Toyota Rav4 spun out on Boutwell Street. No injuries or property damage. (11:38am)
- A blue 2008 Chevy Silverado struck a utility pole near the North Reading/Wilmington line. No injuries reported. (11:42am)
- A wire was reported hanging low from a pole at Middlesex Avenue and Adams Street. Police notified RMLD. (11:43am)
- A caller reported wires down blocking Cunningham Street. Police notified RMLD. (11:47am)
- Police received report of a tree blocking the road on Federal Street. Police cleared the debris. (11:59am)
- Police received report of down wires and a fallen tree on Faulkner Avenue. Police notified RMLD and DPW. (12:06pm)
- Police received report of tree and down wires on Coolidge Road. Police notified DPW and RMLD. (12:20pm)
- Police received report of branches down and suspended wires on Lawrence Street. Police notified RMLD. (12:29pm)
- Police received report a tree down, against wires, on Auburn Avenue, blocking the road. Police notified DPW and RMLD. (12:38pm)
- Police and Fire responded to sparking wires at Christine Drive and Cypress Street. (12:55pm)
- DPW reported a FedEx delivery truck went off the road and into a guard rail near the North Intermediate School on Salem Street. No injuries. (1:02pm)
- A 2-vehicle car crash occurred on Salem Street. No injuries. (1:16pm)
- Police received report of a tree down, against wires, on King Street. Police notified DPW and RMLD. (1:19pm)
- A 2-vehicle car crash occurred on Glen Road. No injuries. (1:26pm)
- Fire Department responded to a utility pole on fire on Kendall Street. (1:31pm)
- A 2-vehicle car crash occurred on Boutwell Street. No injuries. (1:38pm)
- Police received report of a tree down on Forest Street. Police notified RMLD. (1:48pm)
- Police received report of a tree down and wires down on King Street Ext. Police notified RMLD. (1:56pm)
- A gray 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer struck and knocked down a stop sign at King Street and Glen Road. (2:18pm)
- A 2-vehicle car crash occurred on Forest Street with minor injuries. (3:03pm)
- A 2-vehicle car crash occurred on Glen Road. No injuries. (3:08pm)
- Police received report of a large tree branch obstructing the roadway on Federal Street. Police notified DPW. (3:17pm)
- A caller reported a branch down blocking the road on Lawrence Street. Police notified DPW. (3:33pm)
- Police received report of wires arching on Fairmont Avenue. Wire was smoking. Fire Department and RMLD was notified. (3:50pm)
- Police received report of wires arching on Burnap Street. Police notified RMLD. (4:21pm)
- An Allen Park Drive caller reported a wire with branches on it was smoking. RMLD was notified. (5:10pm)
- A Christine Drive caller reported a branch on wires and that the wires are smoking. RMLD was notified. (5:51pm)
- A Silverhurst Avenue caller reported a branch on wires and that the wires are arching. Fire Department handled. (6:57pm)
- K9 Ridic ran training exercises at Rotary Park. (7:13pm)
- Police received report of tree on wires with fire showing. Fire Department responded and closed the road. The tree branch was burnt in half by the wire. RMLD also responded. (7:30pm)
- Police received report of arching wires on Morse Avenue. RMLD notified. (9:20pm)
- A Kilmarnock Street caller reported someone threw a bag of trash at his front door. The caller didn’t see anyone, but did see a set of footprints in the snow. Police checked the area and were unable to locate anyone. (10:49pm)
- A Patterson Street resident called to report her street was not plowed at all today. Police notified DPW. (11:18pm)
