Residents Invited To Honor Wilmington Fallen Hero, John Landry Jr., At Scholarship Breakfast

Below is a message from Wilmington Veterans Agent Lou Cimaglia:

I would like to invite all the residents of Wilmington to the 9th annual PFC John F. Landry Jr. Memorial Breakfast. PFC Landry was killed in Action in Baghdad Iraq on March 17, 2007. PFC Landry is Wilmington’s only KIA from the OIF/OEF War. The Town of Wilmington honored John with an amazing tribute at his funeral 9 years ago and the Town of Wilmington also erected a monument at Silver Lake on Main Street to honor John’s life and sacrifice.

The Lowell Catholic High School has had a memorial breakfast for PFC Landry for the past eight years. The money they raise goes to fund a Memorial Scholarship in John’s name. The Landry Award is given annually to a member of the junior class who exemplifies the traits of character, service and loyalty. John F Landry Jr. was a member of the class of 2005 who sacrificed his life while serving in Iraq on St. Patrick’s Day 2007. A breakfast is held each year at Lowell Catholic to remember John and raise money to support his scholarship.

Please let’s show the Landry Family that we have not and will not forget the sacrifice John made in defense of our country. This year’s breakfast will be at the Lowell Catholic High School on March 13, 2016 at 9:30 AM. There will also be a Mass at 8:30 AM at the LCHS Auditorium.

Tickets are $25 and there are also advertising for their Ad book. $25/$50 and $100 for a full page Ad. Tickets and ad forms are available at the Department of Veterans’ Services Office.
