Christopher Sullivan Named New Wilmington Animal Control Officer

WILMINGTON, MA — At last night’s Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting, Town Manager Jeff Hull announced the appointment of Christopher Sullivan to the position of Animal Control Officer.

Sullivan had worked as a dispatcher in Wilmington’s Public Safety Central Dispatch Department since January 2015.

“He has been a reliable and trusted employee who served in that very challenging role with dedication and commitment,” wrote Hull in a memo to Selectmen.  “I am confident that he will continue to serve the Town in his new role with the same level of pride and dedication.”

Sullivan assumed the job on February 1 is already in the process of completing his state-mandated training course.

Hull noted the position is a 40-hour per week position, Monday through Friday, with a reasonable measure of flexibility to respond to calls outside of the 9am-5pm window.

In addition to responding to calls, Sullivan will also arrange educational programming to inform residents about their responsibilities as pet owners.

The Board of Selectmen were pleased with the choice, unanimously approving Hull’s appointment.
