WILMINGTON, MA — Superintendent of Schools Mary DeLai just announced on Twitter that Wilmington Public Schools will be closed on Monday, February 8, 2016.
Wilmington is under a Winter Storm Warning from 4am on Monday to 7am on Tuesday.
Highlights of the warning include:
- 6 to 10 inches of heavy snow is expected.
- Snow will begin on Monday morning between 4am and 7am.
- Snow will become heavier after 8am and continue into early afternoon.
- Snow intensity will begin to diminish by mid-afternoon.
- Travel will be slow at best on well-treated surfaces and quite difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces
- There will be winds between 15 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH
- Visibility will be one quarter mile or less at times
