WILMINGTON, MA — Steven Robert Hughson, age 26, of Wilmington and Boylston, beloved son of Steven and Denise Hughson passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2016, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Steven is survived by his mother and father, Denise and Steven Hughson, he was loving brother of Matthew, Alexander, and Melissa Hughson, all of Boylston, MA. Cherished grandson of Jean and the late Robert Hughson of Wilmington, Robert and Kathleen Lord of Tyngsboro, and the late Esther Lord. Steven is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Steven was born May 9, 1989 in Lowell and attended Wilmington schools until age seven. He attended Boylston Schools and graduated from Tahanto High School in 2007. He was employed at Peterson Party Center in Woburn for the last ten years.
Steve enjoyed sports and recreational activities. He played in Boylston youth soccer and baseball as well as Shrewsbury youth hockey for many years. He still enjoyed playing adult hockey in recent years. He was an avid camper and back country hiker. He enjoyed many excursions in the White Mountains and north country of New Hampshire with family and friends.
Steve was affectionately known by friends as “Chesire” or “Oscar the Grouch” at work for his businesslike approach. Steve’s sometimes “grouchy” exterior belied a very gentle, kind and generous nature which was apparent to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Steve will be sadly missed by his family and friends who loved him very dearly.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, February 5th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Steven’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
