Evelyn S. (Arbo) Martini, age 88, of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Woburn and Wilmington, passed away on January 6, 2016.
Evelyn was born on May 20, 1927 in Malden, MA. She was the daughter of the late Judson and Jennie (Spinney) Arbo. Evelyn grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School. She furthered her education at Fisher College in Boston where she earned her degree.
Evelyn worked for many years as the Administrative Assistant to the President of Avco, presently known as Textron.
Evelyn was very social and enjoyed being part of the community. She belonged to the Wilmington Rainbow Girls for many years. After relocating to Florida, she became the Queen Mother of the Red Hat Club.
Evelyn had a strong faith. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Wilmington, which is now the Abundant Life Christian Center. Evelyn enjoyed singing in the choir and served on several church committees.
Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Martini, devoted mother of the late Edward Allen, dear sister of Norman Arbo of Kansas City, MO, Audrey Hanlon of New Holland, PA, Roger Arbo & his wife Bev of Cape Cod, and Joyce Corbitt of Methuen, MA. Evelyn is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Evelyn’s life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at the Abundant Life Christian Center, 173 Church Street (Rte. 62),Wilmington. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Evelyn’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
