12 WHS Students Receive Massachusetts Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

WILMINGTON, MA — The following TWELVE Wilmington High School students were named 2016 Massachusetts Scholastic Art & Writing Award Winners yesterday:

Gold Keys

  • Callie O’Connell – Gold Key – Photography

Silver Keys

  • Deven Langenfeld – Silver Key – Design
  • Timothy Scalona – Silver Key – Personal Essay/Memoir
  • Jamie Shanning – Silver Key – Sculpture
  • Charlotte Sulick – Silver Key – Personal Essay/Memoir

Honorable Mention

  • Kathryn Bischoff – Honorable Mention – Ceramics & Glass
  • Sophie Consorti – Honorable Mention – Poetry (x2)
  • Christine Le – Honorable Mention – Ceramics & Glass
  • Jared McGowan – Honorable Mention – Design
  • Morgan McIntyre – Honorable Mention – Drawing & Illustration
  • Christopher Patrone – Honorable Mention – Photography
  • Lillian See – Honorable Mention – Film & Animation (x2)
  • Jamie Shanning – Honorable Mention – Ceramics & Glass
  • Charlotte Sulick – Honorable Mention – Personal Essay/Memoir

O’Connell’s photograph will compete against all other Gold Key winners from around the country for National Medals.

O’Connell, Langenfeld, Scalona, Shanning and Sulick are all invited to attend a ceremony at the Museum of Fine Arts in early March.

The 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were open to all Massachusetts students in grades 7–12.

The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA) and the Boston Globe served as the Massachusetts’s Scholastic Art & Writing Award affiliate.
