POLICE LOG for January 18: Lots & Lots of Crashes, Crosswalk Complaint

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are THIRTEEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, January 18, 2016:

  • A Main Street caller reported her indoor cat escaped from her house.  Resident called back to report that cat returned. (4:35am)
  • A blue 2004 Honda Odyssey and a black 2006 Ford Truck were involved in a crash on Woburn Street.  Caller reported a plow truck caused him to drive off the road and caused damage to Verizon pole. (6:25am)
  • A Nichols Street caller reported a vehicle slid into her mailbox and struck a utility pole. A neighbor’s mailbox was also damaged. (7:25am)
  • A gray 2012 Ford Fusion was involved into a one-vehicle crash at Lowell Street and Woburn Street. Airbag deployed. No injuries. Vehicle towed. (7:53am)
  • A gray 2010 Toyota Corrolla and a white 2004 Ford Truck were involved in a crash on Salem Street. No injuries reported. (7:58am)
  • A gray 2004 Toyota Tundra and a green 2003 Ford Ecowagon were involved in a head-on crash on Shawsheen Avenue.  One party was transported by Action Ambulance. (8:14am)
  • A gray 2006 Toyota Corrolla and a blue 2007 Toyota Camry were involved in crash at Burlington Avenue and Boutwell Street.  A fire hydrant was damaged. No injuries reported. (8:23am)
  • A blue 2006 Ford Crown Victoria and a black 2014 Honda Accord were involved in a minor crash at Middlesex Avenue and Glen Road. (8:56am)
  • A brown 2005 Nissan Altima struck a pole on Marion Street. RMLD notified. No injuries reported. (9:02am)
  • Tennessee Gas alerted police that they’ll have surveyors on Ballardvale Street and by Benevento’s. (1:04pm)
  • A red 2010 Toyota Corolla and a green 1996 Toyota Camry were involved in a minor crash at Super Petroleum on Main Street.  No injuries reported. (2:41pm)
  • A missing juvenile from the Milestone Group Home turned themselves into the Chelsea Police Department. (2:51pm)
  • A caller requested there be signs indicating a crosswalk in front of Elia’s Country Store.  Caller has been nearly struck by vehicles on multiple occasions while walking in the crosswalk. (5:11pm)
