POLICE LOG for January 17: Wintry Conditions Leads To Accidents, Plow vs. Mailbox

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, January 17, 2016:

  • Police came across a man who feel asleep in his vehicle in his driveway, with the engine running and lights on. Man checked OK. (2:59am)
  • Cumberland Farm employee reported a man in the store stated he was assaulted tonight.  Police and Fire responded.  Fire transported the man to Lawrence Memorial. (3:51am)
  • A black 2015 Honda Accord and a black 2005 Nissan Altima were involved in a crash at Sonny’s Mobile on the Run on Lowell Street.  No injuries reported.  One vehicle was towed for having a revoked registration. (10:52am)
  • A white pick-up truck with plow struck and damaged a mailbox on Hopkins Street.  Truck was gone by the time police arrived. (9:15pm)
  • A white 2003 Toyota Sequoia struck a pole on Federal Street.  No injuries reported. Vehicle was towed. 1 male party left the vehicle on foot.  Police caught up with that party.  Driver was a juvenile, who was cited for a passenger violation and no license in posession.  Police transported both juveniles back to their residence, and notified their parents. (10:39pm)
  • Police notified DPW of the icy road conditions. (10:58pm)
  • Police observed evidence of a recent crash on Glen Road, noting debris in the roadway. (11:38pm)
