BILLERICA, MA – Katelyn Stevens was recently honored as a Senior of the Month for December at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School.
Stevens is a health assisting student with high hopes in the medical industry. She plans to attend college and eventually work in an emergency room.
Stevens will leave Shawsheen as one of the most well-rounded members of the student body. She is ranked within the top five of her class academically, is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society and won a bronze medal in SkillsUSA at the district finals last year.
She is also active athletically, playing both ice hockey and softball for the Rams and will serve as a captain this spring on the softball field. Stevens also plays AAU softball for the Nor’easters.
Outside of school Stevens’ activities include coaching figure skating, soccer and basketball, teaching CCD, being a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Wilmington and volunteering for a local food pantry and for the 40-hour Famine organization.
Stevens is no stranger to the working world either. She’s worked at Windsor Place of Wilmington, an assisted living residence and community for the elderly, and has also worked as a babysitter.
