WILMINGTON, MA — The search for Wilmington’s next Strings Teacher is officially ON!
Wilmington Public Schools began advertising the full-time strings instructor position on Wednesday. The posting can be found HERE.
The Job Description includes:
- Full time Strings Instructor for grades 4-12.
- Responsibilities include instruction in grades 4-5 in both private and group lessons as well as grades 6-8 and 9-12 string orchestras.
- Lessons are on a rotating, in-school schedule in grades 4-5 with one lesson per week.
- Dedicated ensemble periods are held every other day at both the Middle School and High School levels.
The Job Requirements include:
- Thorough knowledge and experience teaching and/or playing one or more string instruments. Piano skills are preferred.
- Skill and experience with conducting, rehearsal management with one or more large ensembles and interaction with parents and the community at large.
- A current Massachusetts Teacher Certification in Vocal/Instrumental/General license (All levels)
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
The position is considered open until filled, with no application deadline. Monday, February 22, 2016 (first day back from February vacation) is listed as the Start Date.
