POLICE LOG for January 12: Kids Walking On Silver Lake; Wallets Missing From Nursing Home

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, January 12, 2016:

  • An Eleanor Drive resident reported a gate under their porch was knocked down and screens to windows to basement pried off.  Police responded and found the plastic latticework likely broke due to the the cold. No other evidence of a break-in attempt present. (7:33am)
  • Ryan Harrington (24, Burlington) was arrested on warrant involving a failure to appear and for possession of a Class A Substance. (8:56am)
  • A party reported two missing wallets from Woodbriar Nursing Home on West Street. (10:21am)
  • Police responded to reports of 2 middle school-aged boys attempting to walk on ice at Silver Lake.  Police advised the children. (2:18pm)  There was later a report of five children playing in the ice.  Police responded, but did not locate any of the children in question. (3:11pm)
  • A brown 2003 Nissan Altima and a black 2006 Chevy Silverado were involved in a minor crash at the end of the 93 North off-ramp onto Route 62. No injuries noted. (2:53pm)
  • Chelsea Police reported a juvenile from Milestone Group Home was located at their station.  DSP notified Milestone, who was notified to call when she is back in their possession. (6:59pm)
  • A black 2010 Volkswagen GTI struck a pole on Glen Road.  RMLD was notified. Car was towed. No injuries reported. (7:58pm)
  • A red 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue struck a pole on Hillside Way.  RMLD was notified. Car was towed. No injuries reported. (9:00pm)
  • Burlington Police reported a white 2004 Toyota Highlander went into a snowbank at Burlington Avenue and Forest Street.  Vehicle was towed. No injuries reported. (8:10pm)
