POLICE LOG for January 10: Bruins Locker Room Alarm; Wires & Tree Branches Down

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, January 10, 2016:

  • Police checked in on a vehicle parked along the woods near Stoneham Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union on Jefferson Road.  Police spoke with the operator, who was trying to take care of a stray cat in the woods. (7:13am)
  • A false alarm was triggered in the Bruins locker room at Ristuccia Arena. (10:29am)
  • Wires were reported down on Fairfield Road. Police contacted RMLD and closed off the road to traffic. (12:21pm)
  • A large tree branch was reported down on McDonald Road.  Police moved the branch to the side of the road and contacted the Tree Department to deal with tomorrow. (12:42pm)
  • A Hopkins Street caller reported their pellet stove was malfunctioning and smoke was in the house.  Fire Department responded. (2:27pm)
  • Low hanging wire was reported across Middlesex Avenue. Police believed someone struck a pole, which may fall.  Police contacted RMLD and Verizon. (3:29pm)
  • Reports of an erratic operator was reported traveling on Shawsheen Avenue.  Police located the vehicle, which turned out to be driven by a delivery driver for Brothers Pizza.  Situation checked OK. (5:46pm)
  • Police issued a citation to an unidentified driver for operating an unregistered vehicle. (9:53pm)
