Vigil For Frank Kelley Set For January 18

WILMINGTON, MA — A candlelight vigil will be held to honor beloved Wilmington teaching and coaching legend Frank Kelley on Monday, January 18 at 6pm on the Wilmington Town Common. The event will last approximately 20 minutes.

Resident Joe Martiniello, one of the thousands of Wilmington High School students Kelley impacted over his legendary teaching and coaching career in town, is organizing the event.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved Martiniello’s request to use the Town Common for the vigil at their meeting on Monday night.

Kelley passed away peacefully at his home on January 8.  His wake will be held on Thursday, January 14, from 2pm to 8pm, at St. Dorothy’s Church (120 Main Street).  His funeral will take place on Friday, January 15 at 10am at St. Dorothy’s, followed by a get together at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall.  His burial will be private and held on Saturday, January 16.
