BILLERICA, MA — Wilmington’s Brendan O’Flaherty was named Senior of the Month for November at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School.
O’Flaherty excels both academically and athletically. He has played football, basketball and baseball during his high school career. O’Flaherty performs on the baseball field, where he suits up both for the Rams and for the Billerica Post 268 Legion team in the summer. He was a Commonwealth Athletic Conference all-star last year for Shawsheen.
An honor roll student, O’Flaherty is ranked in the top 10 of his class with a 3.95 GPA. He’s been active in SkillsUSA competitions and Shawsheen’s cooperative education program. O’Flaherty also spends time volunteering at organizations, including Winchester Hospital, Jim McNally’s boxing and his local church.
In the future, O’Flaherty plans to put his health assisting studies to use, and he wants to earn his nursing degree in college and become a physician’s assistant.
Tewksbury’s Brenna Ferreira was the school’s other Senior of the Month in November.
