DRACUT, MA – Dean A. Cook, 56, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at The Westford House, surrounded by his loving family, due to complications from diabetes. He was the beloved husband of Julie Ann (Maillet) Cook, with whom he shared 17 loving years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on August 26, 1959, he was a son of Barbara R. (Spinney) Cook of Vero Beach, Florida, and the late Retired LT. Robert E. Cook, Tewksbury Police Department.
Dean was educated in the Tewksbury School System and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School with the class of 1978.He was employed as a receiver for Market Basket for 40 years, and most recently worked at the Bridge Street location in Lowell.
Dean’s greatest passions were fishing and playing baseball, which he enjoyed sharing with his sons. He played baseball for the Tewksbury Little League, Tewksbury High School, and most recently was a member of the Lowell “Over Thirty Baseball League.” He was a also member of the Wamesit A.M.& A.F. lodge of Tewksbury, The Valley Temple of Boston, and the Aleppo Shrine of Wilmington, MA.
In addition to his wife and mother, Dean is survived and will be deeply missed by his three cherished sons, Zackary, Brian, and Michael all of Dracut; his two brothers Don Cook and his wife Judy of Tewksbury and their daughters Janelle and Kimberly, David Cook and his wife Elizabeth of Lowell, and their sons Nathaniel and his wife Annaca, and Robert; His Aunt Joyce Tampone of Peabody; two cousins Robin Paquette and Lori Anketell; a brother-in-law, Andrew Maillet and his wife Jennifer of Maine; a sister-in-law, Denise Ferullo and her husband Richard of Wilmington, and their children Megan Brassey, Erin Carter and Richie Ferullo.
Dean’s family would like to thank all those that helped them during this difficult time, particularly the staff at Westford House, Edgewood Unit, for your unconditional care and support; our extended families at Market Basket (Store #2) BSA Troop 25 & 80, and St. Francis Church; and our neighbors and friends, and those that we have not met for all your prayers, support, kind words of encouragement, and assistance.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. on MONDAY, January 4th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral will be held from the funeral home, TUESDAY, January 5th at 8 a.m., with his Funeral Mass directly following at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Church, Dracut. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dean’s name c/o American Diabetes Association, P.O.
