WILMINGTON, MA – The Wilmington Youth Lacrosse Association is actively seeking Wilmington high school students interested in officiating girls lacrosse games (U9 and U11) this spring.
WYLA is holding a 3-class Junior Umpire Beginner Clinic on Monday, February 22; Wednesday, February, 24; and Monday, February 29; from 7pm to 9pm, at the Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue).
The clinic is for prospective umpires who are (1) in high school and (2) ages 15 to 18. No prior umpiring experience is required. In addition to the classroom instruction, junior umpires must: (1) pass a 3-4 hour field rating session; (2) join US Lacrosse; and (3) join Eastern Massachusetts Women’s Lacrosse Umpiring Association.
Pre-registration is required. Pre-registration costs $105. Walk-in registration is not allowed. Space in each class is limited. Participants must attend all three classes. EMWLUA reserves the right to combine clinics or change locations based on enrollment levels. Registered students will receive detailed location and instructor contact information 10 days before the clinic starts.
