WILMINGTON, MA — North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA announced that the Progress Committee of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) selected thirteen OSRAM, SYLVANIA and Traxon branded products for its 2015 report of innovative industry developments, with one shown during the Progress Report presentation at the IES Annual Conference that took place recently in Indianapolis, IN. All products selected for the IESNA Progress Report represent significant advancements in the art and science of lighting.
Solutions across several technologies from OSRAM SYLVANIA, Traxon Technologies and OSRAM Opto Semiconductor were acknowledged in this year’s IESNA Progress Report. As in previous years, OSRAM continues to raise the technology bar with products selected for a wide range of innovations including the industry transforming luminaire that won this year’s LIGHTFAIR® “Most Innovative Product of the Year award,” an industry first wireless controller with power measurement capability and an LED chip using a new form factor that delivers optimal performance, and a wide range of LED solutions delivering the highest efficacy and/or lumen output in their categories.
“The lighting industry is experiencing unprecedented transformation and OSRAM is helping to drive this growth,” said Grant Wright, CEO/CFO of OSRAM Americas and president and CEO/CFO of OSRAM SYLVANIA. “All of our employees can be proud that the IES Progress Committee once again is recognizing our innovations, and our customers can feel supported and confident knowing we are applying over a century of lighting expertise to develop advanced lighting solutions to meet their specific needs.”
The Progress Committee was established to seek significant developments in the art and science of lighting and present a report of its findings to the Society at its annual conference. Each year, the committee considers hundreds of submittals for inclusion the IES Progress Report. The committee, which is comprised of experts in fields such as sources, ballasts/power supplies, controls, luminaires and design, evaluates the entries and accepts only those which are considered unique and/or offer significant improvements over existing products available in the industry.
