SELECTMEN NEWS: Big Issues To Be Discussed At Tonight’s Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets tonight at 7pm at Town Hall in Room 9.

There is a great deal on the agenda, including:

  • The Board of Selectmen will discuss what they’d like to see in the town’s FY17 budget
  • Selectmen will vote on 2016 licenses for Wilmington business areas in the following areas: alcoholic beverages; automatic amusement; billiard room; Class I garage; Class II garage; common victualer and entertainment.
  • Selectmen will vote on requests from K1 Speed Racing, Chili’s, Stop & Go, and Subway (337 Main Street) regarding various licenses and/or ownership changes
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide an update on the Town’s Facilities Master Plan process
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide an update on the recruitment of a new Animal Control Officer
  • Town Manger Jeff Hull will provide an update on the recent Kinder Morgan filing relative to the proposed high-pressure gas pipeline that would travel through a portion of Wilmington over the town’s objections
  • Reading Municipal Light Department General Manager Coleen O’Brien will highlight RMLD’s accomplishments for the year
  • Wilmington’s Director of Planning & Conversation Valerie Gingrich will discuss proposed zoning changes to a portion of Lowell Street
  • Selectmen will discuss a request from the Board of Appeals relative to the Fourth of July Committee’s application for a special permit to have a carnival in the Fourth of July Building’s parking lot

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV-G — Channel 22 on Comcast and Channel 39 on Verizon.  The meeting will also streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
