POLICE LOG from December 1: Truck vs. Pole, Cars Entered, Teen Smoking Bong In Public?

WILMINGTON, MA  — 58 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.  Here are NINE highlights:

  • Runaway from Milestone Group Home returned at 1am. (8:07am)
  • A caller stated dump trucks working in the Eleanor Drive area were operating a high rate of speed on a daily basis and requested extra patrols. Police spoke with the crews and advised them of the complaint. Drivers will be informed to maintain low speeds. (8:26am)
  • A Salem Street resident received a check and instructions via Priority Mail. Resident knew it was a scam and dropped it off to police for further review. (9:56am)
  • Individual reported a lost or stolen wallet, with $600, from Kirkwood Printing on Main Street. (12:21pm)
  • A caller reported a man entered her vehicle in the lot of Metrigraphics on Concord Street. She was unsure if anything was taken. Another vehicle in the lot was also reported entered, with $35 stolen. (12:59pm)
  • A caller reported a train track arm fell onto his truck on Salem Street and snapped off. Caller removed it from the roadway. Police contacted Amtrak. (1:52pm)
  • A white 2004 Chevy Silverado crashed into a RMLD pole at Harold Avenue and Reed Street. A granite mailbox at 8R Reed Street was also damaged. (2:18pm)
  • A caller reported a white teenage boy wearing a black hoodie was smoking a bong as he walked down Parker Street towards Adams Street.  Teen was gone when police arrived. (4:05pm)
  • A black man wearing a green vest was reported as soliciting in the Oakridge Circle area. Man, who worked for “Leaf Guard,” was advised of the town bylaws. (5:27pm)
