POLICE LOG from November 25: Kids Behaving Badly?, Sheriff Office Phone Scam

WILMINGTON, MA  — 58 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.  Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • It was noted that the street sign and pole for Sachem Circle was laying on the ground. Police notified DPW. (2:29am)
  • Juveniles in a large group were fighting at McDonald’s on Main Street. Group dispersed as police arrived. Police made contact with kids and notified their parents. (11:14am)
  • A Cook Avenue caller reported she received a scam call from the someone claiming to be from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, requesting payment for a “fine.” (1:14pm) (NOTE: Wilmington Apple shared the Sheriff’s Office warning on these calls HERE.)
  • A caller reported around 1:30pm today, her 10 year-old son told her he witnessed a younger child being picked on by possible middle school kids outside the Shawsheeen School. Son was unsure of who they were because he does not attend Wilmington Schools. Police spoke with School Resource Officer Fiore, who will follow up with the caller. (2:27pm)
  •  Jesse T. Peres (24, Haverhill) was issued a summons for leaving the scene of property damage and failure to yield at an intersection. Peres was involved in a minor motor vehicle crash in front of Lucci’s on Lowell Street. (2:25pm)
  • A Horseshoe Lane resident reported someone using an air horn in the area for approximately the past hour. Police believed the noise was coming from a game occuring at Austin Prep. (6:43pm)
  • John Travassos (57, Salisbury) was arrested on a warrant for unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failure to stop for police. Travassos was picked up in Lucci’s Plaza when police noticed his vehicle had 2 flat tires. (8:52pm)
