POLICE LOG from November 17: 2 Businesses Accuse Employees of Theft; 2 Frauds Reported

WILMINGTON, MA  — 44 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.  Here are NINE highlights:

  • Jose Luis Santos Varella Barca (31) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to stop. Operator had a Brazilian passport. (1:04am)
  • Police issued a citation to the driver of a red 2012 Honda Civic for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk near Reading Cooperative Bank on Middlesex Avenue. (6:38am)
  • A party reported several unauthorized withdrawals, totaling approximately $1,200, were made with her debit card. (10:33am)
  • A caller reported a box truck cut her off on Main Street, near Cumberland Farms, causing her to strike the curb and cause damage to her vehicle. (11:49am)
  • A Main Street business reported past larcenies by an employee of at least three pairs of skates. Christopher Grinnell (20, Wilmington) was issued a summons for larceny over $250. (12:05pm)
  • A Ballardvale Street business reported past theft of product from an employee. Winston Degout (44, Lawrence) was issued a summons for larceny under $250. (1:33pm)
  • Police issued a citation to a blue 2004 Toyota Camry were failure to stop for a school bus on Lowell Street. (2:09pm)
  • A Jere Road caller reported a Comcast account was falsely opened in her name, racking up $442 in charges. (4:05pm)
  • A white 2009 Volkswagen Jetta and a white 2015 GMC Sierra were involved in a crash, with airbag deployment, on the 93 North On-Ramp at Concord Street. No injuries noted. (5:11pm)
