POLICE LOG from November 16: Car For Sale Catches On Fire; Stolen Shrimp

WILMINGTON, MA  — 74 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Monday, November 16, 2015.  Here are TEN highlights:

  • An Andover Street caller reported he had parts of the car which may have hit his mailbox over the weekend. (9:59am)
  • A Lowell Street caller reported sometime in the past month, his handicap placard was taken from his car, possibly at the Wilmingon Plaza. He wanted the incident logged. (10:59am)
  • A Woburn Street caller reported cars are speeding between 6:30am to 7:30am and asked for extra patrols. A large pothole was also reported on Woburn Street between Wing Road and Federal Street. Police notified DPW. (11:17am, 1:19am)
  • A Concord Street caller reported a tree is resting on power lines in front of 15 Concord Street. RMLD was notified and was en route. (12:36pm)
  • A Salem Street resident reported a contractor working next door at Whispering Pines cut bushes on her property. Police spoke with contractor, who admitted the accident and said his company would replace the bush in the spring. Resident was satisfied. (12:58pm)
  • A Market Basket employee reported a black man wearing a black jacket ran out of the store with a bag of shrimp, got into a gray 2010 Toyota Camry, and was possibly heading towards Tewksbury. Police were unable to locate and notified Tewksbury PD. (4:16pm)
  • An Evergreen Drive caller reported her son was locked inside of their apartment, has a history of suicidal statements, and is concerned for his well-being.  Sister was at the apartment and no one answering the door. Police notified the apartment’s maintenance department. Child was not in the apartment. (4:33pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire on Michigan Avenue (5:42pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a car fire on Lowell Street. Vehicle was in the process of being sold, was taken for a test drive, and arrived back at the residence, where it caught on fire. (6:44pm)
  • A black 2011 Volkswagen Jetta was keyed in the marking lot of Golden Ginger. (9:44pm)
