POLICE LOG from November 12: 2 Hit & Runs, Needle Found, T Troubles

WILMINGTON, MA  — 50 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, November 12, 2015.  Here are THIRTEEN highlights:

  • A caller reported she is lost in the area of Park Road and Pembroke Street after attempting to walk to Burlington from the train station. Police gave her a ride home. (12:51am)
  • Police located a small tent in the middle of the road on Phillips Avenue. Police moved it to the side of the road and requested DPW to remove it. (1:31am)
  • Resident found a black lab mix, in the vicinity of Firestone on Main Street. Resident will keep the dog at her Glen Road home and return to the station later in the morning. (5:23am)
  • A Woodland Road resident reported he order an iPad Mini from Walmart.com. When it arrived, there was nothing inside the box. Resident didn’t believe box was tampered with, but that Walmart forgot to put the item in the box. (8:16am)
  • Police transported an unruly passenger on a Commuter Rail train to Wellington Station. (9:34am)
  • A Magazine Road resident reported an IRS scam phone call. (9:40am)
  • A needle was found on the sidewalk of Clark Street a Middlesex Avenue. Police retrieved the item for destruction. (2:52pm)
  • A Border Avenue resident complained of dirt bikes in the area. Police could not locate. (4:43pm)
  • A white 2007 Pontiac G6 was struck in a hit and run at Main Street and Glen Road. A Wilmington firefighter happened to witness the accident and reported a white sedan left the scene heading towards Tewksbury. Wilmington Police notified Tewksbury and Billerica Police. (4:44pm)
  • A red 2015 Nissan Pathfinder was struck in a hit and run on Route 129 and I93 North (Exit 38). Driver was unable to give description of other vehicle due to darkness and rain. (4:53pm)
  • A Frederick Drive caller reported the street light is out in the cul de sac.  Police notified RMLD. (6:17pm)
  • A Main Street caller reported vandalism to a red 2993 Subaru Legacy that he has for sale on his property. (8:06pm)
  • DPW reported a blocked drain causing water to run off the loading dock at the Shawsheen Elementary School. (9:53pm)
