WILMINGTON, MA — Town Manager Jeffrey Hull has announced that Town Hall and other municipal offices including the Buzzell Senior Center and Wilmington Memorial Library will be closed for business on the Friday following Thanksgiving. Town offices will close at 4:30PM on Wednesday November 25 and reopen 8:30AM on Monday November 30. This change does not impact Police, Fire or Public Safety Dispatch departments, as they remain open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
The new schedule is the result of negotiations with two of the town’s employee unions. In each case the employees gave up an earned day off for the Day After Thanksgiving. The change has the potential to produce minor operational savings as well, in electricity, heating oil, and natural gas for the impacted buildings.
For more information about the new schedule, visit wilmingtonma.gov or call 978-658-3311.
