POLICE LOG from November 6: A CRAZY Day For Wilmington Police; Silver Lake Fence & Bench Damaged

WILMINGTON, MA  — 74 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, November 6, 2015.  Here are TEN highlights:

  • An employee of CVS on Main Street called to report an unknown man in boxer shorts causing a disturbance in the store. Man then fled the store on foot. An employee of Cumberland Farms on Main Street then called to report the man had attempted to enter the store and was refused entry. Police spoke with the man, who was under the influence of narcotics. Fire Department evaluated the man and transported him to the hospital. (4:24am)
  • An employee of Milestone Group Home on high Street called to report a missing juvenile from the program had returned. (6:59am)
  • The Billerica Animal Control Officer, temporarily serving Wilmington, transported an injured owl from Shea Concrete on Salem Street to Tufts Wildlife Clinic. (11:05am)
  • A gray 2000 Honda Civic and a white 2014 Mazda CX5 were involved in a car crash on Lowell Street. Fire Department transported one on an injury unrelated to the crash. (1:02pm)
  • A Beech Street caller reported a woman approached her home and stated to a 13 year-old that she would like to buy the house. She left on foot after leaving her phone number. Described as an older Asian female, dark hair in a pony tail, with glasses. Police were unable to locate her. (2:53pm)
  • A caller reported two ATVs were going down Cunningham Street towards Faulkner Avenue. Police were unable to locate. (4:16pm)
  • A black 2002 Mazda Wagon and a gray 2010 Toyota Corolla were involved in a crash, with an injury, on Middlesex Avenue. (5:38pm)
  • A red 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer and a brown 2004 Dodge Ram were involved in a minor accident at the library. (6:57pm)
  • Gina A. Minichiello (28, Winthrop) was issued a summons for leaving the scene of property damage at the Town Beach. A caller had reported a vehicle parked on the grass in Fullerton Park. Two parties were out of the vehicle with flash lights, looking around. Caller reported a white car, unknown make, just left, but hit the guardrail a couple of times before exiting the lot. The car then went down Grove Avenue towards Main Street. Police noted extensive damage to the chain link fence and fresh damage to the bench at the pier. A part of the vehicle’s bumper was found attached to the wooden fence. Police was able to determine the make of the vehicle. Ultimately, they were able to identify the owner. (10:24pm)
  • David Sweet (26, Billerica) was arrested for possession of drugs (Class B, C, D, and E). A caller reported Sweet was jumping in front of oncoming traffic on Woburn Street and Cherokee Lane. (11:45pm)
