After Hours Concert—The Bel Airs (ages 21+, $15)
Friday, December 4, 7 pm
The Bel Airs, New England’s premier doo wop and oldies vocal quintet, will sing America’s pop music from the time of poodle skirts and beehive hair dos. They have been featured on New Hampshire Chronicle and were voted Best of New Hampshire 2012 by New Hampshire magazine. Ticket price includes a complimentary glass of wine, coffee, and dessert. Please note tickets are limited and may be purchased at the Information Desk at the first floor of the Library

Tax Issues for the Unemployed *RR
Monday, November 9, 10am
This talk will cover tax issues that can help job seekers. The tax code allows for certain deductions of job hunting costs. Many job seekers also spend some time doing volunteer work and some of these costs can be deducted. Changes to the 2015 tax code will be addressed. Presented by Beth Logan, Enrolled Agent and lead tax advisor at Kozlog Tax Advisors.
Microsoft PowerPoint *RR

This hands-on Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 class led by Technology Librarian, Brad McKenna, will cover such topics as explanation of the various tabs found on “The Ribbon”, how to apply themes, and how to insert pictures and videos.
Tuesday Night Craft: Wire-Wrapping for Beginners (ages 16+, limit 12, cost $5.00)

Learn some basic wire-wrapping techniques and make a pair of earrings or necklace. Please register at information desk on first floor.
Feasting with Recipes Then and Now: An Exploration of Recipes from Colonial New England *RR
Thursday, November 12, 7 pm
Join Chef Liz Barbour as she takes a journey back to the early 1700’s and discusses the workings of the colonial kitchen and the ingredients available. Watch as Liz demonstrates a few recipes with historic roots that she has adapted for today’s shopping and palate. Samples tastings and recipes included.

Extreme Improv: An Exploration of Creative Drama

Actors will explore the secrets of improvisation as a performance art form with theater coach Cindi Haggerty as you act out theater games, rock character development scenes, and perform and acting challenge. Grades 4-8.
Art Adventures: Vincent Van Gogh *RR
Tuesday, November 10, 3:45 pm
Create your own masterpieces in the style of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night. We’ll explore different forms of media and techniques to make one of a kind artwork for you to take home. Grades 1-3
Introducing Zoey the Library Labrador
Thursday, November 12, 4-5 pm
Sign up to read to Zoey, the Library Labrador. Zoey is a great listener who loves to have children of all ages to read to her and improve their reading skills. Please call the Children’s Department at 978-694-2098 to sign up for a 15 minute session.
Preschool Drop-In Storytime

Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft! Ages: 2-5 and one or more adults.
Library News:
Friends Annual Appeal
The 2015 Friends of the Library Annual Appeal is underway. The goal for this year is to raise the funds needed to offer innovative multigenerational Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs and resources. Your donation will enable the library to: expand its STEM-based programming for children, teens, and adults, purchase an additional pass to the Museum of Science and purchase STEM kits that patrons can borrow. These STEM kits may include fun math games, materials for experiments with simple machines, solar powered robots and more. Donations may be mailed to the Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library, 175 Middlesex Avenue, Wilmington, MA 01887. Donations can also be made on the library’s website.
Closed Veteran’s Day
The library will be closed on Wednesday November 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.
