Louis Lopardi Sr., 91, died peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth C. (Barcelo) Lopardi, who predeceased him in 2001. They shared 55 loving years of marriage.
Louis was born in Boston on January 4, 1924. He was the son of the late Anthony and Angelina (Pagliarolo) Lopardi. He was a graduate of East Boston High School with the class of 1941.
He proudly served his country during WWII, enlisted in the United States Air Corp. ranked as SGT until he was honorably discharged in September of 1943.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, Louis was employed for Textron in Wilmington for 25 years as a maintenance machinist.
Louis was a life member of the American Legion, Post 35 in Mt. Dora, FL, as well as the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his children, Louis Lopardi Jr. of Tolland, CT, Linda Ouellette of Chelmsford, and Marianne Simpson and her husband Mark of Pelham; his siblings Sally Roman of N. Andover,and Barbara Lomas of Wakefield; two grandchildren, Jessica Eastman and her husband Andrew of Pelham, and Earl Wilcher and his fiance Mary Goose of Lowell; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Ruth and Faith IRene Eastman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Phylis Nota.
LOPARDI — Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on SATURDAY, Nov. 7th from 1 until 2:45 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home following calling hours at 2:45 p.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
