Wilmington Youth Soccer’s Latest In-Town Game Summaries (October 31)

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, October 31, 2015.

Boys Grade 1 Games:

LA Galaxy vs. NE Revolution

The Revolution was impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Dennis Reppucci leading to goals by Chase O’Brien, Chase Levesque and Jonathan Malley.  The defense showcased their skills today with Nate Anderson keeping the ball out of the zone most of the game.

Girls Grade 1 Games:

Kansas City vs. Red Stars

Top-Notch play kept people watching the match-up between FC Kansas City and the Chicago Red Stars. Excellent offensive plays were made by Kansas City’s Lucy Mendoza and Savannah Beatrice, leading to goals by Emma Callahan and Olivia Raposa. Ellie Gillis and Dani Madore added tremendous tenacity and hustle in the midfield,  and Hailey Regeura and Caitlin Hayes dominated on defense.

Nobody stayed home for this action packed game. The Red Star’s Anna Heiplik scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense from Emma Tarin, Bailey OConnor and Olivia Martinello set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Jenna Giammarco, Angelina Vo and Celina Vo provided great protection for the Red Stars.

Girls Grade 2 Games:

Washington Spirit vs. Portland Thorns

The Portland Thorns were also impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Zoey Helbert, Abigail Fennelly and Allison Boutoures leading to goals by Charlotte Forcina, Lindsay Broussard and Sofia Tentindo. The defense was also showing their skills today with Cayley Israelson, Isabella Rogers, Ava Cirone and Isabella Zaya keeping the ball out of their zone for much of the game, while the goal keeping of Casey Kelley kept this game close

The crowds gathered at the Shawsheen fields for this back and forth game. The Washington Spirit led by Abby Wiklund, Cara DiGiovanni, Maddie Gryglik, and Mackenzie Scanlon  got the crowd jumping out of their seats. Sarah Sampson and Emma Callahan led the scoring charge, while the great defensive effort of Maria McCarthy, Macy Savage, Maeve Doherty, Lily Abbott, and Mikayla Cella kept the action going. Nice job by all!
