WILMINGTON, MA — At Monday’s Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting, Wilmington Town Manager Jeff Hull announced the town is holding a sale of surplus vehicles and equipment.
“Typically every year, or every couple of years, we put vehicles we no longer have a use for out to bid,” explained Hull.
“This year, there’s a listing of 15 different vehicles and pieces of equipment,” noted Hull. “Individuals can submit bids on these vehicles. The bid deadline is November 17 at 10am. The bids will be publicly opening and the awards will be made to the individuals or entities that offer the highest bid and otherwise qualify.”
The invitation to bid can be read below. The invitation and bid sheet can also be found on the town’s website HERE.
INVITATION TO BID
SURPLUS VEHICLES & EQUIPMENT
The Town of Wilmington is accepting sealed bids for the following surplus vehicles and equipment. Sealed bids must be submitted to the Town Manager, 121 Glen Road, Wilmington, MA 01887 by November 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM, where and when they will be publicly opened. All bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope with “Town of Wilmington 2015 Surplus Vehicles & Equipment Sale” and inside must contain the item number for which each bid is placed, the amount of the bid and the name and address of the bidder.
All bidders must execute a certificate of non-collusion which is provided as part of these bid documents.
All items are available for inspection Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Public Works Building at 135 Andover Street. All items are sold “AS IS” without warranties of any kind, and fitness for a particular purpose, and most are in need of some repairs.
The surplus supplies will be awarded to the responsive bidder offering the highest price for the items described in the invitation for bids. The Town of Wilmington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and dispose of the vehicle through a negotiated sale, provided that the negotiated sale price is higher than the highest bid received from a responsive bidder.
Successful bidders are expected to render payment made by cash or bank check payable to the Town of Wilmington, in full and collect their purchases within five (5) days of notification of bid acceptance. Items not claimed within five (5) days will be offered to the second highest bidder.
Questions regarding the sale items should be directed to the Department of Public Works at 978-658-4481.
