Wilmington, MA — The Sarah DJ Carter Committee is comprised of five members appointed by the Wilmington Town Manager for 3-year service terms. Throughout the year, the Committee is on the lookout for talented musicians and entertaining programs to present to residents and friends of the Town of Wilmington.
The committee’s funding comes from an endowment presented to the Town in 1907 through the will of the late Sarah D. J. Carter. Carter requested that these events remain free of charge and open to the public.
As Wilmington Apple reported yesterday, hundreds of residents enjoyed the committee’s latest effort — a Friday night concert at the Wilmington Middle School featuring performer George Lyons singing the songs of Frank Sinatra.
Here’s Wilmington Apple’s Question of the Day for October 29: The Sarah DJ Carter Committee, as noted on its website, is already looking for suggestions for its next event, likely to be held in October 2016. Want to recommend a band? A musician? A singer? Any sort of performer? Send your suggestions to SarahDJCarter@comcast.net.
