POLICE LOG from October 22: OUI Arrest; Cleaning Out A Car Leads To Suspected Drunk Driving

WILMINGTON, MA — 64 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, October 22, 2015.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • A missing juvenile from Milestone Group Home returned. Police tried to speak to the juvenile, but the child refused. (7:07am)
  • A caller reported a road rage incident with a silver 2013 Toyota Tacoma near Sonny’s Mobile on the Run on Lowell Street. (10:17am)
  • A resident reported paving trucks are operating at a high rate of speed on McDonald Road, almost striking her. Police spoke with the general contractor, who will address the issues. (10:34am)
  • The North Intermediate has a Fire Drill. (1:40pm)
  • A Burlington Avenue caller was concerned his wife was leaving a check for a Babe Ruth fundraiser. Police confirmed it was a scam. (2:13pm)
  • An illegal burning of leaves was addressed on Woburn Street. (5:06pm)
  • A gray 2014 Nissan Maxima and a gray 1999 Volkswagen Passat were involved in a motor crash at CVS. (6:25pm)
  • A gray 2008 Nissan Quest and a gray 2009 Subaru Legacy were involved in a crash at the high school. Injuries reported, but not detailed. Fire Department did not transport anyone. (7:10pm)
  • Police arrested John Gearty (28, Cambridge) for OUI Liquor; Failure To Stop For Police; Marked Lanes Violations; Leaving the Scene of Property Damage; and Possession Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle. (7:28pm)
  • A Woburn Street resident reported a pickup truck crashed into a tree and took out his mailbox and continued on. Police believed it was the driver above and will investigate further. (7:38pm)
  • A caller reported a man was pumping gas at Cumberland Farm and was drinking what appeared to be a beer. Police pulled the vehicle over on Shawsheen Avenue. Man was a passenger in the vehicle and claimed he was cleaning out empty containers at the gas station, not drinking. Vehicle was sent on its way. (8:19pm)
