POLICE LOG from October 11: Motorcyclist Gets Medevaced; Hit & Run On 93; Train Gates Stuck For Hour

WILMINGTON, MA — 51 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, October 11, 2015.  Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • Police issued a summons to Anthony D. Tran (22, Wilmington) for OUI Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Operating a Motor Vehicle in Violation of License Class; Speeding; Marked Lanes Violation; and Failure to Stop For Police. Police attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed down Glen Road. Motorcycle crashed. Motorcycle was towed, State Police Reconstruction Team was called in, and a Medflight landed behind Town Hall and transported the driver to Brigham and Women’s. Police contacted the driver’s family. (12:48am)
  • An Uber driver called to report he was rear-ended on 93 North. He pulled off the highway and into Mobil on the Run, while the suspected vehicle continued on. Wilmington Police contacted the State Police and Tewksbury Police, where the owner of suspected vehicle resides. Tewksbury Police notified Wilmington Police that the vehicle in question was in the owner’s garage, but unable to tell if there is any damage.  House was dark and no one was answering the door. State Police were advised and arrived on scene. (3:15am)
  • Train gates on Kilmarnock Street were stuck down for approximately an hour. Police notified Amtrak. Police believe one of the gate arms may have been struck by a vehicle. (7:12am)
  • Multiple vehicles were parked at Town Hall for Wilmington Pop Warner, blocking other cars in and making the lot difficult to access. Police made contact with operators and vehicles were moved. (8:54am)
  • A walk-in party reported an ex-girlfriend took his debit card without permission and made two unauthorized purchases totaling $702. (2:02pm)
  • A Shawsheen Avenue caller requested an officer due to a dispute between him and a landscaper in the area that was blowing leaves into his yard and threatened him. Police was able to restore the peace. (2:37pm)
  • A person walking on Main Street found Notary Public documents and stamp on the ground. Police contacted the owner to retrieve the lost items at the station. (5:15pm)
