POLICE LOG from October 10: Fireworks at 2am; Tractor Trailers Ignoring Truck Exclusion; Car vs. Pole

WILMINGTON, MA — 57 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Saturday, October 10, 2015.  Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • A Chestnut Street caller reported loud bangs outside of the front of his house. Police investigated. Someone had set off some fireworks in the middle of the road.  Police identified the culprits, advised them, and confiscated a box of fireworks for destruction. (1:42am)
  • A blue 2002 Toyota Corolla crashed into a Verizon pole at 71 Middlesex Avenue. Fire Department transported the driver to Winchester Hospital. Driver was issued a written warning for marked lanes violation. (10:56am)
  • A Salem Street resident reported tractor trailer dump trucks were continuously driving down the road in violation of the truck exclusion. Dispatch notified all police traffic officers. (11:55am)
  • The stop sign at Shawsheen Avenue and Aldrich Road was found laying on the road. Police contacted DPW. (11:59am)
  • Ridic and Officer Palmer conducted training at the Woburn Street School. (12:43pm)
  • A caller reported two young girls were alone in the Chili’s Restaurant on Main Street asking customers for money. They left and walked across the parking lot and got into a light gray vehicle and then went to Advanced Auto Parts. Police were unable to locate the girls. (2:32pm)
  • Police issued a summons to Donald C. Mahoney (49, North Reading) was operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, not having his registration in his possession, and failure to drive in the right lane. (2:55pm)
  • Police was out with a black 2004 Kia Sorento behind Salvation Army on Main Street, noting suspicious activity. Police sent the vehicle on its way after items from the vehicle were placed back and/or donated. (9:45pm)
