POLICE LOG from October 9: $500 Of Flowers Stolen From Wildwood Cemetry; Larceny At Analog Devices

WILMINGTON, MA — 54 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, October 9, 2015.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • Police issued a summons for Jason Baker (44, Haverhill) for breaking & entering a building during the daytime (felony), larceny from building, and breaking & entering a building during the nighttime (felony). Baker is accused of stealing a pipe threading machine, valued at $5,000, from Analog Devices, on October 7 around 7am. (9:08am)
  • A caller reported five children riding scooters in the street causing a hazard on Lake Street and Grove Avenue. Officer checked the area and were unable to locate the children. (9:28am)
  • A 20 MPH speed limit sign on Aldrich Road was noted missing. Police contacted DPW. (9:52am)
  • $500 worth of flowers were reported stolen from the Wildwood Cemetery. (11:15am)
  • A blue 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis, a white 2014 Ford Van, and a white 2008 Chevy Cobalt were involved in a motor vehicle crash in front of Burger King at Lowell Street. No injuries noted. (11:42am)
  • A Sheridan Road caller reported a scam call from the IRS. (11:45am)
  • A Main Street caller reported that, 10-15 minutes ago, she heard someone knock on her back door and then attempt to gain entry. Caller could see an outline of a person through the shades, but could not describe. She waited until party left and them made the call from her her neighbor’s house. Police checked area and was unable to locate the party. (3:00pm)
  • An older model green Pontiac struck barriers on Shady Lane Drive and drove over someone’s lawn, continuing down the road toward 62. Police was unable to locate the vehicle. Police contacted DPW regarding the damaged barriers. (3:51pm)
  • A white 2009 Honda Pilot and black 1994 B&W were involved in a crash at Middlesex Avenue and Federal Street. BMW rear-ended the Pilot. No visible damage to either vehicle. No injuries noted. (6:52pm)
  • Police Officer reported two juvenile males were seen coming off the Melrose Cheerleaders’ School Bus at Wilmington High School. Males were also part of a group that were throwing items from the bleachers onto vehicles in the parking lot. Police did not believe anything was taken from the bus. (8:55pm)
  • A caller reported a sleeping man in the rear of CVS, breathing but incoherent. Police spoke with the man, who was awake and alert. Police sent him on his way. (11:39pm)
