Wilmington Special Education PAC Holding October 19 Workshop On New ELA & Math Programs

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is holding a special workshop on Monday, October 19 at 6:30pm in the WHS Library.

Presenters Linda Cornell (Woburn Street School Reading Teacher), Lisa Ippolito (Elementary Math Specialist), and Kate Burnham, Ph.D. (Assistant Superintendent) will discuss the school system’s new elementary math and ELA programs – EnVisions 2.0 and Fundations  — with an emphasis on how they support all learners, including Special Education students.

The presentation will provide an overview of both programs, along with demonstrations.  EnVisions 2.0 offers many ways to differentiate instruction and reach all students. Fundations provides direct and explicit phonics instruction, an essential element in a strong, balanced literacy model of literacy instruction, designed to reach all learners.
