WILMINGTON, MA — Do you have a child who is struggling in school and you may think she/he may have a learning disability? Are you aware that you can request your school district to test your child at no expense to see? Do you know your rights? Or is your child on an IEP or 504 but your not sure it’s working?
On Wednesday, October 21, 6pm-8:30pm, the Wilmington United Methodist Church is sponsoring a workshop on the Basic Special Education Rights of Parents and how to obtain services for their children.
The workshop will be facilitated by Lynn A. Powers, MSW, who has over thirty years of experience working with families to obtain the needed services students may require. Although her specialty is in Mental Health and Autism, Powers has worked with children with all types of disabilities, in the Merrimack Valley, on the North Shore, and around the state.
Powers will provide a series of handouts at the workshop.
Please RSVP by calling 617-538-0736 or emailing grapeadv@verizon.net.
