Teixeira, Naomi E. (Johnson), age 84, a former resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in East Boston on December 29, 1930, Naomi was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur “Dewey” Johnson, Sr. and Marian T. (Fogg) Johnson.
Naomi grew up in Malden where she met and married Gabriel Teixeira, sharing over 60 years of marriage. In 1977, the couple moved to Wilmington where Naomi worked at Diamond Chrystal for many years. Naomi was an outgoing person with a great personality, having the ability to make friends wherever she went.
Naomi was the beloved sister of Dorothy D’Alessandro & David Johnson, both of New Hampshire, Ruth Long & Marion Delarue, both of Massachusetts, the late Arthur “Dewey” Johnson, Jr. of Wilmington and the late Florence Iosua of Wakefield. Naomi is survived by many nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews. She was especially close to Yvette Johnson Atkinson, Arthur “Dewey” Johnson, III and Kristen Johnson, all of Wilmington.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Naomi will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at the Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to Local Heroes, Inc., PO Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.
