POLICE LOG from September 30: Smashing Pumpkins; Stolen Pills; OUI; Car vs. Pole

WILMINGTON, MA — 64 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Wednesday, September 30.  Here are THIRTEEN highlights:

  • A white 2007 BMW and a red 1996 Honda Accord were involved in a car crash near the I93 Southbound ramp on Concord Street. No injuries noted, but there was airbag deployment and both cars were towed. (7:03am)
  • A Fiorenza Drive caller reported pumpkins were taken from her porch and smashed on the sidewalk.(8:00am)
  • Police assisted in removing a tree from the roadway near Jimmy’s Garage on Main Street. (9:48am)
  • A Jones Avenue caller reported an annoying phone call from someone claiming to be the U.S. Attorney General. (10:38am)
  • A caller reported a dislodged manhole cover near Michael’s Place on Lowell Street. Police contacted DPW. (11:16am)
  • An Evergreen Drive resident reported she received threatening texts from her neighbor. Police found the texts non-threatening and advised the resident it was a civil matter. (1:09pm)
  • A Deming Way resident reported cash, pills and other items were missing from her residence. (1:15pm)
  • 2 cars were involved in a motor vehicle crash and wound up in the median prior to Exit 39 on I93 North. State Police handled the scene. (3:26pm)
  • A gray 2007 Ford Fusion struck a pole at Burlington Avenue and Chestnut Street. Vehicle was towed. Verizon was notified and will check the pole for damage. (3:50pm)
  • An erratic operator of a green 2006 Honda Odyssey was reported traveling on Shawsheen Avenue toward Billerica. The van almost caused an accident pulling out of the plaza and also went in the wrong lange turning onto Richmond Street. Vehicle entered Billerica and Wilmington Police contacted the Billerica Police.
  • Margaret Siegel (62, Westford) was issued a summons for an OUI Liquor (2nd offense), Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and State Highway Traffic Violations. Siegel was involved in a 2-car accident on Harold Avenue and Shawsheen Avenue.
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a stove fire at a home on Cherokee Lane. (7:44pm)
  • A GNC employee reported he has received a few calls over the past week from an elderly woman asking for help. He is unable to locate the number from the calls, but will contact the police the next time the call occurs. (7:55pm)
