Wilmington Youth Soccer’s Latest In-Town Game Summaries (October 3)

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Boys Grade 1 Games:

Columbus Crew vs. NE Revolution

The Revolution was impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Ari Donn leading to goals by Nate Anderson, Chase Levesque and Jonathan Malley.  The defense showcased their skills today with Chase O’Brien keeping the ball out of the zone most of the game.

Chicago Fire vs. LA Galaxy

The LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire battled back and forth on a chilly October afternoon as both sides raced up and down the field with non-stop action. Nicholas Melargani opened up the scoring for the Galaxy on a beautiful feed from Jake Driscoll, Melargani would add another goal later in match.  Jonathan Stokes and Cameron Molina led a late game attack with Molina cashing in with the goal.  Steady defensive plays by Henry Almeda and Richard Holland rounded out an overall great team effort as the crowd stayed warm watching the back and forth action.

Girls Grade 1 Games:

Kansas City vs. Seattle Reign

The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between FC Kansas City and Seattle Reign commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Daniella Madore and Hailey Reguera resulting in goals by Ellie Gillis and Emma Callahan. The defensive play of Caitlin Hayes kept Kansas City in excellent shape. And Savannah Beatrice and Olivia Raposa contributed some outstanding plays that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Breakers vs. Thorns

The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between the Boston Breakers and the Portland Thorns commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Isabella Goldstein, Elizabeth Kulevich, Madison O’Donoghue, Kalea Lamb & Niki Douzepis. The midfield and defensive play of Niki Douzepis, Isabella Goldstein and Madison O’Donoghue kept the Breakers in excellent shape. The crowd roared to their feet when Elizabeth Kulevich & Kalea Lamb made some spectacular defensive moves.

Girls Grade 2 Games:

Houston Dash vs. Washington Spirit

Despite the wet weather, nobody stayed home for this action packed game. The Dash’s Cate MacDonald, Erin McCarthy, Sophia Cataldi and Krystal Wells scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense by Srilasya Mallajosyula and Shannon Barrett set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Ava Warford and Skylar Nguyen provided great protection for the Goal Keepers.

Boston Breakers vs. Seattle Reign

The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between The Boston Breakers and The Seattle Reign commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Micayla King and Kaitlyn Shackelford resulting in goals by Madelyn Oatis and Summer Sands. The midfield and defensive play of Marina Feeney and Leah Murphy kept the The Boston Breakers in excellent shape. The crowd roared to their feet when Sabrina Fitzgerald and Nicole Galllucci made some spectacular saves.

Chicago Red Stars vs. Portland Thorns

Nobody stayed home for this action packed game. The Chicago Red Stars Ava Noble, Alison McElligott and Isabelle Merritt scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense by Jailyn DiNuccio and Maeve White set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Samantha Bolanos, Mackenzie Weatherbee and Zayjiana Ramirez provided great protection for the Goal Keepers.

Boys Grade 2 games:

DC United vs. Seattle Sounders

The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between DC United and Seattle Sounders commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Brendan Ferrone, Ryan Gray and Chase Heffernan resulting in goals by Adam Veliz and Luke Kitanov. The midfield and defensive play of Logan Zimmer, Quinn Stockman, Alexander D’Angelo and Dylan Grace kept the HOMETEAM in excellent shape. The crowd roared to their feet when Timothy Watson and Luke Deprofio made some spectacular saves.
