POLICE LOG from September 24: School Bus Driver Reports Suspicious Man At Shawsheen Playground

WILMINGTON, MA — 90 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, September 24.  Here are TEN highlights:

  • A maroon 2007 Ford Taurus and green 1997 Honda Accord were involved a car crash at Boutwell Street and Aldrich Street. No injuries reported. (6:56am)
  • Property manager at a Jefferson Road business reported illegal dumping of grass clippings in his dumpster. (8:03am)
  • A Faulkner Avenue caller requested radar be done in this area. Caller stated vehicles are constantly speeding. (8:19am)
  • A Pleasant Road caller requested radar be on done on his street. Caller stated vehicles are using it as a cut through and are speeding. (8:27am)
  • A Sheridan Road caller reported a vehicle with Vermont license plates was parked in front of her house for about an hour. Police spoke with the man, who working on a nearby house and was simply eating his lunch in his vehicle (1:56pm)
  • Police gave a verbal warning to the driver of a gray 2005 Toyota Corrolla for failure to stop for a school bus on Woburn Street. (2:48pm)
  • A caller from North Reading Transportation (school bus company) reported a suspicious white man in his 20’s, walking around by the playground area at the Shawsheen School while kids were being dismissed from school. He was last seen wearing a black sweartshit and jeans. Police found the man on Nichols Street. Individual was identified as Eric Carson (born 7/17/57), formerly of Tennessee. Police advised him not to loiter on town property.
  • A woman in her 70’s left Market Basket on foot. Her husband cannot locate her. Woman checked OK by phone. She could not find her husband in the store so she walked home. (5:11pm)
  • A syringe was found in the roadway of Woodside Avenue. Police retrieved it for disposal. (6:41pm)
  • A blue 2015 Toyota Prius and a blue/white 2008 Suzuki GSXR60 motorcycle were involved in a crash at Richmond Street and Main Street. No injuries noted. Motorcycle was towed. (11:16pm)
