POLICE LOG From September 22: Mo Mopeds, Mo Problems

WILMINGTON, MA — 67 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, September 22.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • Police came across a parked black 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse near the Wilmington/Tewksbury line. A woman jumped out of the vehicle after an argument with the male driver. Police were able to restore peace between the two. (12:48am)
  • Police notified DPW to cut down the brush at Woburn Street and Concord Street, as it was limiting visibility. (2:06am)
  • A caller reported 3-4 youths were going in and out of the sheds that were on display next to Burger King on Lowell Street. Police did not see anything suspicious in the area when checking it. (2:39am)
  • A caller requested Wilmington Police contact the Houston, TX Police Department for a well-being check on her estranged husband, who has been living in Texas since May. Police sent a teletype and contacted Houston Police. (8:19am)
  • Stephen J. Corbett (47, Rockland) was arrested on a warrant of operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Corbett had been picketing outside Commodore Construction on Ballardvale Street. (8:59am)
  • A Federal Street resident filed a report of identity fraud. (9:17am)
  • DPW struck a gas line on Cunningham Street. Fire Department and National Grid were notified. (12:03pm)
  • Police stopped and advise as woman on Grant Street for operating a moped without a helmet. (2:17pm)
  • A hit and run involving a blue 2009 Acura TL took place at Speedway on Main Street. (4:57pm)
  • A crash involving a red 2011 Chevy Cruze and a moped occurred on Lowell Street. No injuries noted. (5:14pm)
  • A Birchwood Road resident reported her son’s gray 2001 Toyota Camry had been egged. (6:18pm)
