WILMINGTON, MA — 93 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Monday, September 21. Here are EIGHT highlights:
- Report of an erratic operator in a red 2015 Jeep Cherokee crossing yellow lines and speeding on Lowell Street and Main Street. Police stopped the vehicle on Shawsheen Avenue. Driver claimed to have been attempting to avoid potholes. Police gave the driver a verbal warning. (5:04am)
- A caller reported his red 2014 Chevy Silverado was struck by a tractor trailor unit while he was stopped at the lights at the end of the I-93 Exit 41 Southbound ramp. The tractor trailor continued on Route 125. (7:09am)
- Police arrested Wendy Welch (40, Lincoln) on outstanding warrants, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, uninsured motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, and speeding. (7:39am)
- A Chestnut Street caller reported she came home and found a man in her driveway claiming to be a contractor. She asked him to leave and he did. She wanted the incident logged. (9:35am)
- A Burlington Avenue caller reported receiving an IRS scam call. (10:04am)
- A caller reported she was sideswiped as she was turning right on Middlesex Avenue from High Street around 8:20am this morning. (10:48am)
- An Amherst Road caller reported a man was soliciting replacement windows. Caller was concerned due to the recent break-ins. Police spoke with employees of Power Home Improvement, advising them of the town’s blyaws on door-to-door soliciting. (2:05pm)
- An injured raccoon was seen laying in the main path between fields at Town Park on Main Street. Racoon was euthanized. (7:08pm)
