WILMINGTON, MA — 33 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, September 20. Here are SEVEN highlights:
- Caller reported an oi truck stopped in the roadway on Main Street. Driver got out and went into Starbucks, causing traffic issues. Truck was gone by the time police arrived. (10:36am)
- Birch Road resident reported possible sick raccoon in her yard. Raccoon was put down. (11:46am)
- A Veranda Avenue caller reported what appeared to be an injured bobcat in her back yard. Animal had retreated back into the woods before police arrived. (12:32pm) Wilmington Patch reported on the sighting last week.
- A brown 2003 Honda Odyssey crashed into the Firestone building on Main Street. No injuries. Building Inspector contacted. (1:12pm) See a photo of the damage HERE.
- A Boyle Street resident reported there was a brown chicken in her front yard, chasing her children. Police was unable to locate the chicken, but made contact with a resident on Hopkins Street who owns chickens. Resident had several chickens roaming around freely. Animal Control Officer to follow up. (3:36pm)
- Justin DiPlatzi (36, Wilmington) was arrested for violating an abuse prevention order. (5:35pm)
- A Lake Street resident reported it appeared someone crashed in her mailbox. A neighbor reported it happened around 7:15pm. The mailbox was put back into the ground and the homeowner was satisfied. (11:10pm)
