WILMINGTON, MA — 65 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, September 18. Here are SEVEN highlights:
- A Swain Road caller reported no water pressure. Police noted water was bubbling up around the homeowner’s mail post. The Water Department was notified. (6:40am)
- The State Police reported a minor crash involving a pedestrian and a blue 2004 Jeep Liberty on Chestnut Street. No injuries reported. (7:30am)
- A customer at Al Prime on Main Street requested an officer for assistance with a dispute over change she should be receiving. Police responded and ‘restored the peace.’ (4:35pm)
- A caller requested a well-being check on her elderly father. She believes he has been in the residence by himself for a few days. She cannot get a hold of anyone at the home. Police visited the home and made contact with the man, who said that when he reads the newspaper, he’s slow to get to the phone and misses some calls. (4:48pm)
- A caller reported that while driving his motorcycle on Hopkins Street, a dark gray mini van operating by a white male cut him off and he dropped his motorcycle, sliding into the van. He signaled for the driver to pull into the parking lot, but the driver continued on. Caller wanted the incident logged. (6:49pm)
- The Essex County Regional Emergency Communications Center transferred a call from a cell phone in Wilmington. A caller claimed to have woken in a basement and was unsure how he got there or where he was. He said he may possibly be at his granddaughter’s house or at his house in Wakefield. Police traced the call to a home in Wilmington on Parker Street. A resident there said her only living grandfather was currently in a hospital. (7:38pm)
- A caller complained of fireworks being shot off somewhere on Chestnut Street. Police passed through the area and all was quiet. (9:22pm)
