POLICE LOG from September 16: Car Crashes Into St. Dorothy’s Steps

WILMINGTON, MA — 89 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Wednesday, September 16.  Here are TEN highlights:

  • A Sherwood Road resident reported feral cats in the area and left a message for the Animal Control Officer. (9:15am)
  • Theresa Russo (58, Tewksbury) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license. Russo’s red 2004 Nissan Pathfinder struck the stairs of St. Dorothy’s Church. A church employee called the police. (10:08am)
  • Ridic and Officer Palmer conducted training in the old Whitefield School’s field. (10:59am)
  • A Webber Street caller reported three solar lights were taken from her property. (1:51pm)
  • An anonymous caller reported two youths had been underneath the Burlington Avenue bridge for several hours and are now walking down Main Street carrying a duffle bag. Caller thought it seemed suspicious. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the youths. (2:54pm)
  • A Reading Cooperative Bank employee reported the lock on the front door of the bank (Lowell Street) appeared to have been tampered with last night. (5:10pm)
  • A West Street caller reported an IRS phone scam. (6:06pm)
  • Kerry O’Brien (41, Saugus) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violations. O’Brien was observed behind the Salvation Army with her blue 2007 Dodge Caravan loaded up thrift items. Police will follow up with Salvation Army tomorrow regarding the items found in O’Brien’s vehicle. (7:41pm)
  • The burglar alarm in the Bruins locker room was accidently set off by the cleaning company. (7:52pm)
  • A High Street resident reported a possible breaking & entering at her residence sometime over the past two weeks. (10:22pm)
