POLICE LOG from September 11: Needles Found On Aldrich Rd. & Lowell St., Kids Misbehaving At Plaza

WILMINGTON, MA — 86 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, September 11.  Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • The street sign for Cushing Drive was noted missing. Police notified DPW. (2:57am)
  • A West Street caller reported receiving messages from someone claiming to be with the IRS. She did not give out any personal information. Police advised her it was a scam. (12:13pm)
  • A hypodermic needle was next to a fence and sidewalk on Aldrich Road. Police retrieved the needle and brought it back to the station for proper disposal. (2:02pm)
  • A Galaxy S5 phone was reported stolen from Woodbriar Nursing Home. (3:25pm)
  • A syringe was found on the side of the road in front of Michael’s Place on Lowell Street. Police retrieved the syringe for disposal. (4:37pm)
  • A group of approximately 20 juveniles were throwing things at cars and causing a nuisance in front of Panera Bread in Wilmington Plaza. Police spoke to the kids and the crowd then dispersed. (5:07pm)
  • A gray 2007 Toyota Corolla and a red 2008 Toyota Yaris were involved in a motor vehicle crash on the I93 ramp on Concord Street. Police called the Fire Department in for an evaluation of a 2 year-old in a car seat. No injuries reported. (9:02pm)
  • A Taft Road caller made a noise complaint regarding loud music playing in the neighborhood. Police investigated and believed the music was actually coming from a building “well into” Burlington. (11:01pm)
