POLICE LOG for September 1: 2 Separate Incidents of Assault With A Dangerous Weapon

WILMINGTON, MA — 118 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, September 1.  Here are THIRTEEN highlights:

  • Police conducted traffic enforcement at all the schools on Opening Day. (6:54am, 6:55am, etc.)
  • A High Street caller would like radar done around 7:50am to 8am due to vehicles speeding up and down High Street. (9:28am)
  • The Presidential Drive street sign was reported missing. Police notified the DPW. (9:29am)
  • Police issued a summons for Jamie Peterson (36, Bilerica) for operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding. (10:30am)
  • Aderito DePina (39, Holbrook) was issued a summons for assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon. Mr. DePina allegedly assaulted a co-worker at Wetmore Company on Ballardvale Street. (10:55am)
  • Police issued more than ten citations or written warnings for speeding on Glen Road and Aldrich Road in the morning.
  • A walk-in party reported at 8:20am this morning, a gray 2010 Honda CRV went through the bus stop at Mass Avenue and Barrtle Street while a school bus had its lights flashing. Party provided the driver’s license plate number. Police made contact with the driver, who stated the bus driver waved her by. (12:41pm)
  • A West Street homeowner reported she found a window above her dryer open. Police believed someone did gain entry through the window and went out the basement door. (1:44pm)
  • Caller reported a yellow 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a juvenile on a bike near the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street, had words with the juvenile, and then left. The driver flagged down the police to report the incident and wanted to make sure the juvenile was OK. Police located the juvenile at Cumberland Farms. He was uninjured and has a ride home. (4:36pm)
  • Reports of two males in the middle of the road on Hillside Way, throwing things at passing vehicles. Police were unable to locate them. (5:27pm)
  • Gina M. Ganley (18, Wilmington) was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. There was some sort of fight on the front lawn of a Woburn Street home. (7:16pm)
  • A walk-in party requested extra patrols at the intersection of Faulkner Avenue and Everett Avenue, complaining that vehicles aren’t stopping at the stop sign. (7:32pm)
  • Reports of a man and woman fighting in the parking lot of UHaul on Main Street. Police found the fight to be verbal in nature. Both parties were advised of their 209A rights (abuse prevention orders). (11:09pm)
