POLICE LOG for August 31: Teen Goes Missing From Group Home; Syringe Found Near Town Hall

WILMINGTON, MA — 87 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Monday, August 31.  Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • Police received multiple calls that the traffic lights weren’t working at Concord Street and Woburn Street. A wire was down at 99 Fordham Road. Reading Light was notified. (6:50am)
  • Police received reports of a man walking through the Glen Road and Middlesex Avenue intersection yelling profanities and knocking over the traffic barrels. Police were unable to locate the man. (7:08am)
  • A needle was found in the middle of the roadway on Glen Road, near Town Hall. Police retrieved the needle for disposal. (8:32am)
  • A 17 year-old male was reported missing from the Milestone Group Home on High Street. He went missing at 8:40am, last seen wearing a yellow/black diamond hat, black shorts, and white diamond shirt. (10:40am)
  • A Woodbriar Nursing Home employee’s tan 2002 Ford Taurus was vandalized in the parking lot. (4:30pm)
  • A tree fell on Glen Road, with some large branches sticking out into the roadway. DPW was notified. (6:09pm)
  • Reports of traffic lights not cycling properly at the intersection of Route 38 and Route 62. Light was taking approximately 3 cycles on Route 38 before switching over to allow Route 62 west to go. Mass Highway was notified. (9:30pm)
  • Reports of a man walking in the Target parking lot making rude comments to customers and employees. Man left the lot and was now walking around the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Police advised the man and gave him a ride of the Wilmington Center train station. (9:45pm)
